it was kinda ( but not really very) wierd this morning to be running along in the damp street quite a good distance away from the houses on that street, when i was all but acosted by the strong smell of… not car exhaust fumes, not the vent hood from macdonalds…no! it was DRYER SHEETS! the smell lasted about 3 or 5 seconds, then about when i realized what that out of place smell was, i had moved on. has this happened to anyone else?
training for the half in november begins soon.
happy running!

I’ve mulled many a familiar, if out of place, scent discovered on the run. Mine tend to be organic, like a new flower in bloom or someone’s fresh urine along a row of bushes. Yeah, talk about extreme smells.

we don’t have a dryer, but our new neighbours do. i can always tell when they’re doing laundry. i love that smell. i would love a dryer if only for sheets and towels. mmmm… i’ve also read that three tennis balls in with a load will get your laundry drier faster and soften teh sheets, but probably with the smell of rubber.

I have experienced the phenomena myself. I can’t decide whether I like the smell, or am annoyed by it.

I can’t say that I have. . . but I cannot smell – so that explains it!
Has life gone back to normal? Is your wife back? How the new baby in the family?
